Thanks Steve,
Nice to hear I'm not alone. Figured it would be a one action button
scenario and that's OK really, seems a small price to pay. Coming from a
FutureSplash background it's a relatively new toy for me anyhow. Also, I
don't plan on using any audio for the beta and perhaps the final version as
it will be available to the public in a hospital environment. Anything
short of "musak" [sic] may seem inappropriate, not that it won't find it's
way in there sometime (perhaps the attract sequence as a screensaver?).
By the way, does Microtech Bonds have a website? I wasn't able to find one
for them and would like to add them to my growing list of touchscreen
providers.
Here's hoping your audio problems are small..
-Jim

Hi
Touch Screen Technology has come a long way. I am using Flash to develop a
stand alone touch screen Kiosk for our Regional Planning Project. The
Touch
Screen I am using is a 17 inch NEC. A company over here (Australia)called
Microtech Bonds the Touch Screen to the front of the standard monitor.
This
comes with special hardware and software and just replaces the the standard
mouse.
The only thing to be wary of is with the action of buttons. When the Touch
Screen is Touched this is the mouse equivalent of an "over" and "click" in
a
single action. Otherwise Flash for a Touch Screen is just the same.
The only problem I'm having is with the audio - but this I think is
hardware
or some strange interaction between Flash and my Audio board.

As far as I know and I may be wrong, but I don't think you can use Flash in
a touchscreen environment. Touchscreen technology has to communicate with
a
special monitor and I don't think Flash has this ability.
If I am wrong I would be interested in finding out how they would acheive
this.
