I have been in the same situation. If the gradient cannot be exported
properly in 5.5 format then just rasterize the gradient part of the logo
and mask it export from photoshop as PNG then rejoin the vector art and
raster art in flash as a hybrid raster/vector logo. Not a perfect fix but
visually the gradient should suffer too much from becoming a bitmap your
lines and sharp area are what you'll want to maintain as vector art.
