this does not seem to be a good use of flash

clients...

Ask for a bitmapped sequence to be output from the raw AE source (less
desirable output the compressed QT movie to a bitmapsequence). There will
be no sound, of course. But you cant import a qt movie into flash.

Then you will need to import as few frames/bitmaps as to get the desired
effect (which is going to be tough) . It would probably be best to have
nothing else going on when you are playing your "movie" and have your movie
be as small (width,height) as possible.

I would try to talk the client out of this, unless you only need a few
frames or you can trace them in Flash. This sounds like a job for director
which can use the qt.mov as is (with the codecs...).
