Thanks for the advice Carl ... I have also used the Modify/Trace Bitmap

command in Flash which seems to do the job, although the image quality

is a little on the poor side.

you can use the autotrace tool in Illustrator or Freehand, depending on how
detailed the image is. Also, try using Adobe Streamline. It does a good job
converting rasterized images to vectors.
