Sam,
Very good info to know and I thank you for taking the time to work it out and post it.
I have noticed that some pretty funny things like that as well.

Summary:
Always give Flash the highest quality in graphics and audio and let it do the compressions??
And PNG's are the thing in images then no?
Anyone agree??  If not . . reasons why . . . ?
Thanx yall.

Subject: FLASH: Has anyone else noticed this about images on flash?

Hi guys.....

1.   I noticed something quite peculiar on flash yesterday and went ahead to proving it so for all image compression proggies. On a pre compressed image (say from ulead smart saver) the image size is larger after compression on flash than a non compressed version of the same.....

2.  On a pre compressed image from Photoshop, smartsaver compresed image size is larger than if the image was set at full quality from the beginning...

3. Overall, the image has a poorer quality if I used the compressed one than using the original......

(By the way, this does not happen with PNG sor GIFs!)

Just thought u would like to know.........
