Most comprehensive way to test for the plug-in is simply to put a small
Flash animation on the HTML page, and below it add this:
If you can't see the animation above, <a href=pluginName.exe>click here</a>
and, when prompted, run the plug-in.
You could do a javaScript detect and have JS write html content, but you'd
be limiting yourself to JS-enable browsers and even then JS won't detect
the plug-in with all browser types.
