Subject: FLASH: affect props of loaded movie
From: Neal Cabage

Guys,

I am doing a prof-of-concept demonstrating affecting the properties of a
movie that has been loaded into a parent movie.

I have an action attached to a button on the root of the parent movie, and a
movie clip that has loaded the SWF external movie in frame1 of the clip. I
give a name to the instance of that movieClip on the root timeLine. When
the button is pressed I can set properties of that movieClip - no problem
... except the properties of that clip that encapsulate the loaded SWF are
not affecting the encapsulated SWF. I thought for sure that would work!

If not this way, how else might I affect the properties of that loaded clip?
What hook is available for referring to that swf as an object?
Specifically, I am would like to define the [X,Y] positions of the swf. For
now, I am just testing an attempt to set the visibility.

Thanks.
Neal
