Subject: FLASH: OT: IE/JS
From: Eric Dunham
Date: Mon, 6 Mar 2000 10:32:16 GMT

I just ran into kind of a weird situation with IE and JavaScript and I was
wondering if anyone had had any of the same kind of thing happen to them. I
just installed Win98 a couple of weeks ago on a dev machine. All it
basically has is Win98 + WindowsUpdate, IE 5.01 128-bit, Flash 4, QT4 and a
couple of other things that are negligible to the problem at hand. I tried a
simple JavaScript document.write(navigator.plugins.length) and it returned a
zero (0). I even tried to go to MM's site and download the latest version of
the plugin, and still to no avail. Does anyone know if and how to fix this,
or a possible workaround, because that kind of thing really screws up JS
detection for any plugin... :(

TIA,
Eric Dunham
