You need to remove and reinstall the ActiveX control, not the plugin.


http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/control_remove.htm explains how to do this.

Once you've removed the ActiveX control, revisit http://www.macromedia.com and you should be prompted to install the ActiveX control again.
