Subject: FLASH: variable/go to problems

Is there any reason that the following would cause a movie to go to
"framelabel1" regardless of the value that "variable" contains?

i.e. variable = "" then movie goes to framelabel1 or if variable
="valuestuff" the movie also goes to framelabel1.

On (Release)
If (variable= "")
Go to and Play ("framelabel1")
End If
End On

thanks!
