This is indeed the model that LiveMotion uses for animation. It, like
AfterEffects, can animate every attribute of every object over time
including swapping out the contents of an object (such as a shape,
photograph, text, etc.) This allows multiple effects with one basic object
rather than the layer model used by Photoshop and ImageReady.

Well, we bypass the manual process of symbol creation into an automated one.
Instead of Symbols and Instances, we make the application manage these.
"Aliases" are true clones of each other and are identical. (Edit any single
object in an alias group and the others change as well.) Editing takes place
in the main layout window. Aliases can, of course, be disconnected.
