Hi, brody
In the authoring environment, it is true that if you are opening the FLA in
a machine that doesn't have the font you originally used, it will use a
substitue font. But the end-user (viewer of the SWF) does not need the font
to view it to my best knowledge. Was your experience with the SWF or the
FLA?
