Subject: FLASH: Streaming MCs
From: Crystal Martin

Hi all!
I'm a bit confused about how MCs work. I have a movie which has an
embedded MC on the main time line. I have found, when streaming, the
movie gets to the MC and pauses for a moment whilst it is trying to
download the MC; however, if I put copy the MCs frames directly onto the
main time line, there is no lag at all in the streaming. Based on what
I have seen, it looks as though the movie streams only the main time
line, and as the movie clip is embedded into one frame, it can not begin
playing that clip until the entire frame which it has been embed in,
thus the entire movie clip has been streamed? Is this indeed what is
happening? I was trying to keep my animated sequences in MCs in order
to keep my main timeline a bit cleaner and to make it easier to align
and place the sequences on the stage. Is there another way to do this
without causing unnecessary delays in the streaming process?
Thanks
Crystal
