>>As the First Product of Its Kind, Swift 3D Delivers Vector-Based
>>Three Dimensional Text and Objects to Web Sites Using Macromedia
>>Flash
>>
>>BOULDER, Colo., March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Electric Rain, Inc. has
>>announced that the wait for a quality 3D vector graphics tool is over.
Their
>>new product, Swift 3D, will enable the creation of 3D imagery within the
>>Macromedia(R) Flash(TM) software. The product will be unveiled and
>>released at the upcoming Flashforward2000 event on March 27th in San
>>Francisco.
>>
>>Swift 3D enables designers to quickly create or import 3D images and
>>animations and export them to the Macromedia Flash (SWF) file format.
Swift
>>3D is not just a file and model converter; it's an intuitive 3D
>>application for
>>creating, editing and animating 3D images. These images can be created
from
>>fonts and basic 3D primitives within Swift 3D, or imported from other
popular
>>applications like 3D Studio (3DS), Adobe Illustrator (AI) or any program
that
>>exports encapsulated PostScript files (EPS).
>>
>>"We're pumped to be the first company to deliver a 3D vector product that
is
>>so desperately needed," said Mike Soucie, President of Electric Rain.
"Swift
>>3D has the potential to save Macromedia Flash designers hours, if not days
on
>>3D artwork and animations. And with our exclusive AVED(TM) gradient
>>shading technology images can appear more realistic, not just
cartoon-like."
>>
>>Swift 3D allows extensive control over the extrusion, rotation, coloring
and
>>animation of 3D images. Pre-built drag and drop animations and powerful
>>keyframe animation enable users to easily apply motion to new or imported
>>images. These images are then converted into a vector format and exported
as
>>SWF files. Swift 3D supports four levels of export -- outlines, meshes,
flat
>>shading and gradient shading -- giving users control over image quality
and
>>size.
>>
>>"Macromedia is excited to see emerging technologies like Swift 3D that
>>extend the capabilities of the Macromedia Flash software," commented Mark
>>Strassman, Director of Product Marketing and Management for Macromedia.
>>"By supporting the Macromedia Flash (SWF) file format, Swift 3D opens new
>>design possibilities for Flash users who want a 3D solution."
>>
>>Since Flashforward2000 will be the premier Macromedia Flash solutions
>>conference, Electric Rain will officially release their newest product at
the
>>event on March 27th. Swift 3D will also be featured in a 3D Breakout
Session
>>to be hosted by Manuel Clement of MANO1 Digital Visions, a
>>well-respected Macromedia Flash designer.
>>
>>"Swift 3D is without a doubt the ultimate 3D tool extending Macromedia
Flash
>>software in ways that designers have been dreaming of," said Clement. "It
>>took me a few seconds to render the 3D images for the OnlineDJ.com
>>interface. The days of hand tracing are over."
>>
>>Swift 3D v1.0 will be available for the Windows platform with plans for a
>>Macintosh version to follow. Swift 3D is priced at $139 and includes the
CD,
>>full documentation and some value-added goodies thrown in like free sound
>>clips and 3D models. A download version will also be available for the
same
>>price at www.swift3d.com.
>>
>>"Having Swift 3D's release date coincide with the Flashforward2000 event
>>works out really well for both our company and the Macromedia Flash
>>community," Soucie continued. "We'll get a chance to debut our technology
in
>>front of the world's top designers and the industry will get to witness
the
>>exciting potential of using 3D with Macromedia Flash."
