FLASH: Re: problem

I am so hoping that you will have a moment to help me out here. I downloaded

your flytext.fla which I am sure you will recognize when you see it.

Take a

look at the attached fla. that I tried to change. I am just learning

actionscripts and I have a couple of questions.


1. As you can see it does not work becuase it does not show the whole name.

I don't know why because I changed the variable text to = Digital

Demographics.


2. Where in the actionscript does it define how long the Max. Lenght(text)

can be?


3. I tried changing some of the numbers but the only thing that works is "1"

why?


What does this do?


Variable;   /char1/letter:char

Value:      Substring(text,1,1)


What does 1,1 mean?


Where is the Lenght(text) defined in this statement?

Set Variable: "max" = Length(text)



and last could you explain this funciton


Target:  "/char"&i

Value:    GetProperty ("/char"&(i-1),_x)+10


I appreciate any help you could give me in this area as I have read all the

books but need some personal explinations. Thank you again
