Batch tracing gets cool when you're doing frames from video (needless to
say). StreamLine's original job, however, was primarily print. It and
Dimensions have suddenly found a whole new world of opportunities.

Basically, it's called the "smooth" tool. You can selectively draw over a
particular section of a path and it will reduce the number of points in that
particular area, rather than over the entire path. (So if one part looks
good the way it is, don't tweak it.)
Streamline has some of these features (and a pen tool for that matter) but,
yes, some adjustments to SL are probably in order... Likewise for
Dimensions.
As for future versions, we can't comment on those but, with LiveMotion in
the house, the need for tools to send files to it is growing...
