hello-

Thanks to everybody who responded to my post. My workaround was pretty
simple. Insted of making the mask a movieclip within another movieclip, I
just made it a graphic symbol had the section in the movieclip timeline
span two frames, in which frame 1 is empty and frame 2 has the movieclip.

Come mid april, you can see this thing in action. Again, thanks.
