Yes, calls to Flash from HTML are called Flash Methods.
SEE MM 4160 Link under Scripting at the Resource, also check out other
articles on FSCommand.

Yes, if done correctly.

Note, I believe Flash Methods are limited to browsers with LiveConnect
or ActiveX as is FSCommands.
