It's a lot simpler to edit the library symbols than to replace all the

instances.  To do that, you would open the symbol edit window and drag the

new image into its own layer, align it however you like, and delete the old

layer.


But even simpler, if the images were imported and not converted to symbols,

you can usually just change them in their source (using photoshop or

whatever), select the image in the library list, click on the down-pointing

triangle at the top of the libray list, and select Update.
