Hi,

You can't do this with Flash audio natively - to synch
multiple tracks of audio, you really need to use Beatnik.

However, you can create the UI in Flash and use this to
trigger the Beatnik Player to achieve up to 64 tracks synched,
with far better audio compression and quality than Flash 4.

We actually have a Flashnik Remixer tutorial at Beatnik.com,
which provides a F4 16 channel mixing desk that remixes RMF and
MIDI files. The RMF files can provide full audio incl vocals and
drums/gtrs and bass etc.

The tutorial provides a open .fla that demonstrates advanced
Actionscript->JavaScript communication, enabling Beatnik to
control Flash (there's an automated mixing mode, where the MIDI
or RMF file actually automates the swf's volume and pan sliders in real
time as the audio plays back), as well as Flash controlling Beatnik
in the User mode, where your slide movements controls the music.

There's also a version at http://www.hyperphonic.com/papabear/flashnik-remixer
that demos this using the Thomas Dolby "She Blinded Me with Science"
song with full audio vocal/bass/gtr/synth/drums/orch tracks etc.

Enjoy. The tutorial also has some ideas hinting how you can design
animations and then get the music to control these in the swf, and
so you can get animated dancers or video in time to the music/controlled
by the music or vice versa for your remix.

If you're interested in Flash-Beatnik type projects, there are quite a number
of Flashnik developers participating in our Flashnik discussion forum at:
http://discussion.beatnik.com/to/?flashnik where you can bring up further
questions on this topic.

Cheers,

- Ian
