FLASH: identifying an mc

using actionscript is there any way i can identify what mc is on the current

frame?

i have a script that is controlling the alpha value of an mc (thanks

dorian!) but i need to apply it to other mcs further along, without having

to duplicate and re-targeting the script mc.


I hope i've made myself clear...
