Well, each has their own thing....I bought Demystefied for D5 years ago, 

and I _think_ a lot of it stays the same from book to book (don't flame 

me if I'm wrong! Not slandering!), and although the updated part is 

probably great, I don't want to pay $50 for just the sections that deal 

with Director changes from version to version.


You see, each kind of 'teaches' specific bits of Director.


Using Director 7 was written new for D7 and I bought the first copy at 

the last Ucon ;) This really deals with Director in total from the 

beginning to average user (but has some great scripts within it I've used 

too!)...it goes from the cold start of 'what media can I use?' 'How do I 

get this to move around?' 'How does a sound play?', you get it...


Lingo Sorcery is for someone that knows and understands how to control 

media from lingo but doesnt' really understand object oriented code and 

creating intelligent agents within code itself, not using the score to 

create the user interaction.


The one I use as a bible as a lingo programming is Bruce's Lingo in a 

nutshell...it gets right to what I want to know, and is more along the 

lines of a reference book rather than a tutorial.
