FLASH: BEGINNER MOVIE CLIP HELP

Appreciate all the help you guys give to beginners.....!

MY problem.I make an animation.....trying to make it a symbol so I can  use 

it again,

I make it a movie clip symbol,.,,,then when I paste it from the library on to 

my main movie, all I see is a still of the first frame..even when I export it 

or preview it...what am I doing wrong....?



I am also trying to convert some Quicktime movies into animation....first I 

posterize the movie so that it looks like a more like a drawing , with less 

detail.... anyway...regardless, any suggestions on how to reduce the file 

size.....?

I saw in a lesson on the subject that something can be done so that flash 

only records the changes from one bitmap image to the next...reducing file 

size...how do you do this?
