I have found that the flash file usually takes it's relative reference from
the html-file except on a particular platform/browser combination (shit I
forgot which, probably mac&explorer) when it takes the relative refrence
from the actual flash-file location.
It really knocked me around for ages.

I have been putting the flash-files next to the html-file to avaoid this
from happening.

Wierd that you are having a problem with this as I have a PC and I reference
the previous directory using '../' all the time.

Never ran into that problem. Can you send us/me a sample file or some
sample HTML and maybe we/I can look at this?

hi all
i dont know if this has been covered already, but i have been having some
trouble cross platforming my flash movies. the problem arises when i want
to go back a directory.

in usual html terms the command would be ../file.html, which is fine on macs
(which i am exporting the movies from) but this does not work when i test on
pc. after much head scratching we discovered that taking away a dot and
typing ./file.html works on pc, but not on mac....this seems to big and
obvious to be a bug, but is there any way around this other than absolute
urls?

thanks

rory
