Subject: FLASH: help with tweening
From: Renee Pearson

i've been using flash5 for about a month and there's still something i don't
understand about motion tweening. here's what i'm trying to do...

i have a small 100x100 pixel jpeg graphic that i imported and converted to a
symbol. i am trying to have a smooth tween from 0% to 100% alpha over 50
frames. should be simple to do. i'm working in symbol editing mode. first
i created a keyframe of the symbol in frame 1 at 0% alpha. then i inserted
another keyframe in frame 50 and changed the alpha of the symbol to 100%.
next i right-clicked between these two frames and selected create motion
tween.

now, when i run the animation it runs fine until it reaches frame 50 where
it shifts just slightly to the left. i've checked the info panel and
nothing whatsoever changes in the symbol...the size and location all stay
the same. does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

also, i'm not really clear on how to read the coding of frames in the
timeline. sometimes when i place 2 keyframes and then motion tween between
them i get a vertical line just to the left of the last keyframe...sometimes
not. this is so puzzling!

thanks for the help!
