I believe all the following works the same for Flash 2 & 3.


If you are using Streaming sound there is no need (or way) to preload

the sound. The sound will be send out in equal portions frame by frame.

You might want to preload some or all of your graphic elements so their

loading will not interfer with the sound streaming.


Any Start or Event sound will not start playing until the frame it is in

is completely loaded including itself. So if you need a sound not to

start playing until the second frame is completely loaded just put it

normally in the second frame.


You can preload Start or Event sounds by placing them in a frame and

turning the volume down completely. Put a Stop Sound Event for that

sound in the next frame and use a Start or Event Sound when the sound is

needed later.
