Mapping vendors who speak Flash include:
http://www.avenza.com/
http://www.maps.com/
Both have developed maps in native layered FreeHand file format in the
past, and both were partners at the Flash 3 rollout. I'm not sure where
each is in the Flash development/delivery process... at worst you can
export a FreeHand map to SWF 3.0 from FreeHand 8.01, and examining their
websites could expose upcoming Flash-native delivery to the web.
I also did a quick general web search with "Flash AND map", and turned up
many, many hits. If searching for examples, then you may wish to
artificially restrict the search with terms such as "shockwave, macromedia,
geography or geographic" etc, to increase the percentage of useful hits.
If you're already tied in with MapInfo's data formats, then they may find
it of advantage to be able to export their data to web-native Flash
format... SWF is an open file format, and they can rather easily write an
export filter for their own app. This can let them deliver
resolution-independent maps to the web, piggybacking off of the net's most
widespread player.
