What you're after is a bit complicated but not impossible.

I would create the button inside a movie-clip and put a 'stop' action on the
first frame.
Then create the button click animation from frames 2 onwards.
double click the button in frame one of the movie-clip, select actions,
"onmouserelease" > "goto frame2 and play".
inside the "onmouserelease" add "tell target" > ".." > "stop" (this will
stop the main timeline until the movie-clip is finished)
In the last keyframe of your movie clip add an action "tell target" > ".." >
(whatever you want the movie to do now).

insert this movie-clip onto your stage

go "control" > "Test movie" (ctrl+Enter on PC) and try it out.

I hope that I have been clear enough:-)
