Well the closest I have been able to get to what you are asking for is
with the use of Rhino. Rhino can export the wire frames of a model by
converting them to vector lines via the *ai file export. This can easily
be braought into Flash then filled with gradients as needed. To help
with the gradient process export a rendered version of the model and
export and *ai file. That way you have something to go by when filling
with gradients. Place the bitmap underneath the *ai export and lock the
layer.

On a similiar note do you know of any other vector based app that allows
for 3D DXF file import? I have tried unsucessfully with Freehand 7.0. I
mention this because it seems like this support you mention would be
first available in the likes of Freehand before we see it in Flash.
