Hi ppl!
Wow, i didn't expect to open a can o' worms when
suggesting a 3d tool for flash!
I suggested rhino3D not because it renders so lifelike
or because it is so powerful or because it is *cheap*.
I suggested rhino3D because you can export its objects
in *.ai format. Which means, vector graphics! This
translates to the 'ol down an' dirty handtracing
techniques which i suppose vecta3d will downright make
obsolete(i hope!)
Of course, if you guys want to experiment with other
3D programs and such, don't let me stop you. Sorry
that my first post was not clear on this.

What about Truespace? I found that to be quite the
bang for the buck! And the UI
is no where near as complicated as most others.

Nope, that hasn't changed, but looking at all of the
other solutions people
are suggesting (except *perhaps* Max & the Vectra
plug-in - which is
around 20x the price) Hash still comes out the winner
as far as I can see.
You could either export each frame as DXF and go
through Vectra (the
hard way) or render using the toon settings and
(auto)trace in Flash.
The other thing is that both the Hash and the Flash
formats are fairly
open. If the market was there, one of the third party
plug-in developers
(or Hash themselves) would come out with a product
that filled the need.
If you want to do 3D though, A:M is worth it anyway.
kind regards,
Richard McLean
