FLASH: Main Timeline and MC's

Hi,  


I am trying to create a drop down menu [MC] with buttons leading to other 

MC's. 


So far, they play, and do what they're supposed to except one.


The structure of the Drop down goes something like this:


button tell target plays drop down menu MC frame 2 a stop action frame 

with buttons.

On the stop action there are 4 buttons. 

One button plays a short animation sequence  in the DROP DOWN MC timeline 

and then correctly closes the drop down menu by jumping to  Frame one of 

the DD MC "hide"


However, the second button calls another MC named "voice" that plays a 

short speech and shows text.  At the end of this MC, however, it will 

jump back to HIDE on "voice"

but there seems to be  no way to make it jump back to "hide" on DD MC 

[since the DD instance name is not available for call up in the Actions 

palette]  and so all the buttons on the DD menu remain dropped down.... 


THIS is the point where I ran into trouble with a nested MC....



AND  


When I tried to call up this nested MC  from the DD MC, I found that it 

would not play unless I gave the DD timeline enough frames for the 

"Voice" MC to play out [ about 55 frames}.  


IS that the norm?    I know I have other MC's playing in a main timeline 

in a single stop action frame.   In this example, however, it would not 

play, it would just immediately jump to "Hide" [frame 1] of the DD MC on 

button press....
