Hi Tim,
The easiest way for me to make an object transparent is to use
Macromedia Freehand. I import my picture (say the bmp file of the tram),
then trace all the parts I want deleted in a layer above the picture. (The
best to do here is to choose a bright red/green/pink color to make it
easier.) If you save the file as an swf it will import into flash as a
series of two keyframes. The topmost layer in Freehand will be your second
keyframe -
1 select the objects in the second keyframe, copy them to the
clipboard
2 paste them over the picture (ctrl-shift-v) in the first keyframe
(pic of your tram)- make sure it is broken apart first
3 break apart everything again to make sure there are no groups in
the red/green part you want to delete.
4 click on the red or green parts and press delete!
