FLASH: FW: htaccess

I am looking for a web host.  Somebody referred me to the above company and

it looks pretty good to me.  Although, it says that it does not support

.htaccess.  That is a bit over my head.  Can anybody tell me what that is

and if it is important.  Thanks.
