It will actually be a
little smaller than a standalone SWF. That's because Shockwave uses a
series of compression methods upon its media.
Note, though, that the
Flash *Player* is small and very fast to start. You'll still likely see a
faster start to a SWF file than to a SWF in a DCR.
(And remember
that vector art is not always smaller than pixel art... bitmaps increase
in size with screen area and color depth, but usually give you detail for
free. Vector art increases in filesize with the total curve count, but
gives you variable resolution for
free.)
