Hi Wes,


Though sound can be added to Flash the sound sync setup in Flash does

not provide a good method to add sound to a animation that will be

transfered to video. Event (and Start) sound will play without direct

sync to the Flash timeline and Stream sound will drop frames to maintain

its sync.


Sound should be added in post-Flash production using sound in Flash as

an inexact representaion. Frame numbers should be the method you use to

develop sound and video (Flash) sync.


Use my Movie Test file and place one of the numbers file on the top

layer of the movie to track your frame numbers. Note these will match

for non-drop frame time code numbers but we could create a version

special for drop-frame timecode display. If it is needed I'll create a

drop frame number list.

One more thing movie clips should not be used in producing Flash for

video except if you are going to export to QuickTime 4 and even then if

you are going to sync sound then you can not stop the main timeline and

play a movie clip instead.


When creating Flash for video you will not follow my normal

recommendation of using MCs to create a short manageable timeline. But

this is still good advise for your other Flash work :-)
