FLASH: Can an MC control Sound on Main Timeline?

Hi folks. 


I was trying to use Marc Hoffman's sound toggle tutorial, but I ran into 

a problem. The MC toggle controls sound in the MC, but doesn't seem to 

control sound on the stage. 


If you use a STOP all sounds on a button in one scene, will it carry over 

to the next?


I am just trying to give users the option of toggling sounds in the 

preloader...
