Jeff,
Stop all sounds, stops only the sounds playing at that moment so no,
stop all sounds would not "carry over into another scene"

The best way Ive found to control sounds is to put them into a single
movie clip . . include a stop frame on each sound . . assign the entire
mc an instance name and then you can tell target any sound included in
that mc's time line so as long as it exists on its own layer without any
other objects in its timeline for the duration of that scene. this can
also be accomplished by loading the sound moive into its own level and
talking to it from any scene anywhere so long as the level remains
loaded. need more explanation give me a hollar. =)

Hi folks.

I was trying to use Marc Hoffman's sound toggle tutorial, but I ran into

a problem. The MC toggle controls sound in the MC, but doesn't seem to
control sound on the stage.

If you use a STOP all sounds on a button in one scene, will it carry
over
to the next?

I am just trying to give users the option of toggling sounds in the
preloader...
