FLASH: MC Loop and Sound?

I got the sound clip toggle on the preloader to work by placing the first 

MC frame before the loop, but the sound now tends to get slightly out of 

sync the longer it plays.


Am I correct in assuming that if I place the first frame of an MC with a 

sound [default on], on the main time line at the first frame of a loop,  

that every time the loop returns, it will play the MC and restart the 

sound, thus defeating the toggle switch?


I am using only Level O, so as to keep the thing compatible with IE 4.x 

Mac.
