Hi Brian,
Also if you have the paint bucket tool selected and click on the
transform fill button ( just to the right of the lock button below the
tool palette) and then click on a gradient fill you get handles with a
center point that allow you to rotate the fill or stretch or compress
it. You can also move where the center point of the gradient falls
within the shape.
