FLASH: Stopping movie clip from looping?

Okay, so I've figured out that to keep some parts of my movie looping and

others  to remain static after playing I need to create separate

symbols/movie clips, right?


So I've done that, but its not working :( I want my main scene to keep

looping and I've put movie clips (symbols) that stop looping in the

appropriate places and I've gone into my publish setting and tried

variations of loop, don't loop etc but all I can seem to do is to either get

the WHOLE MOVIE to loop continuously or the WHOLE MOVIE to stop looping.

It's not working.


Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or how to fix my problem? :(
