This sounds similar to a symptom briefly described in:

NB: This is an interim document, designed for shared problems as they're
discovered, but it doesn't contain full details... the IE5.5/Win table
problem sounds frightening, for instance, but in the real world I haven't
seen that issue arise. Folks in tech support will be modifying this
document and creating newer linked documents as more information comes in.
In this case, if you see a problem with text bleed-through in the
Macromedia Flash Player 5, then if you make this a boxed field rather than
an unboxed field, do you get what you wish? (I'm sorry that I don't have
more info than what's in that document at the moment... I haven't been able
to repro the problem myself yet, and at this point just have what I see in
that technote, sorry.)
