Subject: FLASH: Using Flash to detect Flash Plugin Ver
From: Devin Rader

Hey all! Is it possible to have a Flash movie tell the user what version of
Flash they have. I know that I can use the $version variable, but this only
works in 4 or > and I was hoping to find a solution that would work for F3
and greater. Also, I know I can use JavaScript to do the detection and we
are already using Browser Hawk to perform an initial sniff of the user, but
this is not 100% reliable and I wanted to create a movie that would give
those users that the sniffer can not determine some feedback as to what
version of Flash Player they have.

Any suggestions?? Thanks!!
