Hi JD,
This DW extension is also freezing other Mac users, requiring force
quits, as I read on the Extension threads :

Just causes DW to lock up.

I am trying to understand the difference between the Publish detect
options and the DW3 embed/object control options so that when I put a
flash banner, e.g, into a pre-existing html document, I don't duplicate
or lose the functionality of the detection methods of publish.

Is this the one in Flash 5 or the extension I mentioned above as
incompatible with Macs?

Right... what I want to use is the simplest detect, ignoring IE Mac
issues and just publishing an alternative .gif banner in place of the
flash. I am wondering if the DW3 alternate does this.
The DW control allows you to Embed and Object, Object Only, and Embed Only.
IF you choose OBJECT ONLY you can use and alternate GIF, but I don't know
if that alternate is used if a detection fails or if it just uses the alt
if the browser chooses low resolution or something.
With Embed and Object or Embed only, you cannot chose an alternate.
These options vs. the banner options in Flash are what I'm trying to
understand.
Thanks
Jeff
