FLASH: test: Funtivity.com

Hey everyone,


It's been a while since I last posted to the list, I'm glad to see it's

still intact.


I've been working on a personal project for some time now.  It is a

community for children to show off their art work and stories to their

peers. The unique way that I'm hoping to build community has been lifted

from the old Sierra Network, TSN, INN (and it's other many name

changes).  For those of you that don't remember/know, users could create

a character (avatar) that represents themselves to the other users.  An

idea that is not new, but using it through out a web site I hope is.


For instance, if you create a character and upload some art, who ever

views it will see your avatar by it.  And so on.


The avatars are flash files that contain different hair styles, mouths,

eyes, etc.  When you save a character, frame numbers that represent

those attributes are saved to a database, so that when called, the

avatar can be built.


If you guys could be so kind as to pound around on it, and perhaps

upload an image or two, maybe conjure up a whimsical story to add, I'd

own you all a big favor.


Some of it is still in development, but 99% of it is working. Mostly,

graphical work needs to be done to make it a little easier for kids to

get what's going on.  I'm no expert on any of this, so any comments are

definitely welcome. Also, I've been developing on a mac with netscape

4.7, so any preemptive trouble shooting pointed at good ol' IE/Win would

be super helpful.


Down the road I'm hoping to build multi-user games that further take

advantage of the avatar community...
