Ok, sorry about that, I figured out that you have to make a new transparent
swatch and add it to your swatches, then use that on the newly created
gradient. That seems like somewhat of a hassle but oh well, I'm sure the
pros outweigh the cons! Thanks, and sorry for me having to answer my own
dumb question here.

Ok, I think I'm going crazy,
Can you make a transparent gradient like in F4? (set alpha in the gradient
menu on the color you want transparent) It's a piece of cake in Flash 4,
but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do this in Flash 5...help!
