Subject: | FLASH: bitmap fonts |

I wanted to use a bitmap font in my movie, but in Flash the font list only
lists true type fonts and the three device fonts (_sans, _serif and
_typewriter). Does anybody know the ins and outs of using bitmap fonts in
Flash. The advice from MM is a little confusing...
>From the Flash 4 help files:
"You can use Type 1 PostScript fonts, TrueType, and bitmap fonts in your
Flash movies."
>From the Macromedia tech notes:
"On Windows 95/98/NT, TrueType fonts are recommended for use with Flash.
PostScript Type 1 fonts can be used if Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is installed
and enabled."
I'm on a Win NT machine without ATM. Will getting ATM do me any good?
TIA
paul
