I am not a 2000 user I use NT4 as a rule however I am using a laptop right
now what is win 98 but they are all the same. You do not allocat memory to a
program in windows. What you need to do is increase the size of you virtal
memory. I am not sure what the specs are for 2000. With the others unless
you have 512mb that best way to start, or at least so I am told is to take
the amount of ram and times it by 3. Make that the size of you virtual
memeory. To find it, again I am not sure about 2000. But if you have a
control pannel it will be in there under System then you are looking for a
tab that says performance or something like that. You will find a button
that says Virtual Memory. You will see your drives listed and a star size
and a maximum size. Set them the same for the drive that has you page file
probably C if you have another drive you can put some VM on that too. Reboot
if you still get the same problem reinstall Flash, if you still get the same
thing hit the PC with a hammer then buy a new one, well forget the hammer
but get some more Ram. I have had this with NT4 on a Dual CPU with 512mb of
Ram. God knows why. I just reboot if it happens, it is not usually flash but
sometimes something does it. I think that some programs or system resorces
are not very good at giving back the memory after you close them. Also you
must ensure that you have sufficient hard drive space for your VM. if your
HD is full the system will have nowhere to write the stuff to disk.

Thant is about all I have ever had to do, but I could be wrong.
