Have you tried using a tell target from the last frame
of the movie you are loading to tell the 'loading'
animation to _stop_ playing?

PS Haven't had any _more_ trouble importing large
sound files (largest I've done was ~40mb) on my Mac
(450mhz g3) than on my PC (P3 600), both take a long
time and require lots of Ram...what _Mac_ specific
problem are you having?

It does take really forever to render a movie with
multiple 40mb sound files on either, not to mention
its much easier to add a new sound file if your
interface uses load movie calls to individual .swf
sound files rather than having to re-import and
re-render the entire movie when add or change songs...
