FLASH: Mixing Sound and images

I've been pulling out what little hair I have left over this.  I'm really only 

just starting to play with Flash also.


What I am attempting to do is have a sound effect of someone knocking on the 

door each time the user presses the mouse key.  Every attempt I've made on my 

own has the sound just playing right through the movie.  Could someone give me 

some guidance here, please?
