The outlines around (graphic) links in (mac)IE5 are a feature controlled  by

the browser. It is there for keyboard accessability..... use the tab key to

jump from link to link in a page. As a user, you can disable it by going

into Preferences>browserdisplay>keyboardaccessability, and check the

radiobutton "tab to just textfields". It is gone.


As a designer I used to hate it, as a websurfer, I find it a very handy

feature. And the grandfather of my son, who has difficulties using a mouse,

just LOVES it.


BTW, David, your little scrubbing thing slows down the display of the cursor

on MouseOver, and, Click on a link, and there is the outline....
